A Wohnungsverweisung (exclusion order) can protect you from domestic violence. The police can make the person who used violence leave the home you share, no matter who pays the rent or whose name is on the lease. They can do this if the person puts you or someone else in the home at risk. A Wohnungsverweisung is an emergency protection measure. In Berlin, it can last for up to 14 days.
