Kinder- und Jugend Gesundheitsdienst (KJGD) (für Schuleingangsuntersuchung)
Schulaufsicht (für Zurückstellung oder frühere Einschulung)
Jugendamt (für Verlängerung des Kitagutscheins)
Der Übergang: Mein Kind wird 6 Jahre alt und geht bald in die Schule!
In Berlin beginnt die Schulpflicht , wenn dein Kind bis zum 30. September 6 Jahre alt wird. Der erste Schultag ist nach den Sommerferien, Ende August oder Anfang September.
Der Kindergarten (Kita) unterstützt dein Kind beim Übergang, zum Beispiel durch Gespräche, sprachliche Förderung, Angebote zur Vorbereitung auf die Schule oder einem Abschiedsfest. Es wird empfohlen, dass dein Kind im Jahr vor der Einschulung in den Kindergarten geht!

Was sind die wichtigsten Schritte für die Schulanmeldung?
In Berlin ist die Zeit für die Schulanmeldung immer 10 Monate vor der Einschulung: genau in den zwei Schulwochen vor den Herbstferien. Es gibt mehrere wichtige Schritte, bevor dein Kind in die Schule gehen kann (siehe Anmeldung für den Schulanfang).
- Besuche den Tag der offenen Tür in den Grundschulen.
- Nimm an der Schuleingangsuntersuchung teil.
- Komm gemeinsam mit deinem Kind zur Schulanmeldung an der zuständigen Grundschule.
Bei Bedarf beantragen:
- Wechsel zu einer anderen Schule (Umschulungsantrag)
- Zurückstellung um ein Jahr
- vorzeitige Einschulung
- Ganztagsbetreuung in der eFöB (Hort)
- Prüfung für sonderpädagogischen Förderbedarf

In welche Schule geht mein Kind?
Jede Schule hat ein Gebiet (Einzugsbereich genannt). Kinder, die dort wohnen, haben einen Platz in der Schule ihres Wohngebietes garantiert und müssen die Anmeldung immer zuerst hier machen. Frag bei deinen Nachbarn oder finde nutze die Online-suche:

Achtung: Hier sind nicht alle Schulen gelistet! Wenn du für deine Adresse keine Schule finden kannst, suche online nach „Schuleinzugsgebiet + Name des Bezirks“.
Kann ich mein Kind auch an einer anderen Grundschule anmelden?
Ja, du kannst dich auch für eine andere Grundschule entscheiden. Dafür musst du einen begründeten Umschulungsantrag einreichen. Ob dein Kind auf die andere Schule gehen kann, hängt davon ab, ob es dort noch freie Plätze gibt.
Ein Grund für einen Umschulungsantrag kann das besondere Profil der Schule sein. Eine Besonderheit sind die zweisprachigen Staatlichen Europa-Schulen Berlin.
Was passiert bei der Schuleingangsuntersuchung?
Vor der Einschulung muss sich dein Kind ärztlich beim Gesundheitsdienst (KJGD) untersuchen lassen. Dabei untersucht die Schulärztin / der Schularzt, wie dein Kind hört, sieht, spricht, sich bewegt und wie es geistig und körperlich entwickelt ist.
Die Untersuchung ist keine Prüfung. Sie hilft dabei zu erkennen, ob dein Kind Unterstützung braucht – zum Beispiel Sprachförderung oder zusätzliche Begleitung. Kinder, die noch nicht bereit für die Schule sind und einen Kitaplatz haben, können die Schule ein Jahr später beginnen (siehe Zurückstellung).

Wichtig
Jeder Bezirk regelt die Termine für die Schuluntersuchung unterschiedlich. Manche Termine werden automatisch vergeben und du bekommst per Post Bescheid. Manchmal musst du sie selbst buchen. Wenn du noch keinen Termin hast, schau nach, ob du ihn für deinen Bezirk im Serviceportal buchen kannst:
Was bedeutet Zurückstellen und warum wird es einigen Kindern empfohlen?
Zurückstellen bedeutet: Ein Kind beginnt ein Jahr später mit der Schule. Das Zurückstellen ist für alle Kinder gut, die zum Beispiel noch die deutsche Sprache lernen müssen oder emotional / sozial noch etwas Zeit brauchen. Auch Kindern, die sich schwer konzentrieren können oder gesundheitliche Gründe haben, kann eine spätere Einschulung helfen besser in der Schule anzukommen. Eine Zurückstellung ist keine Strafe und kein Nachteil.
Tipp: Plane frühzeitig! Sprich das Thema Einschulung / Zurückstellung bei einem Gespräch in deiner Kita etwa ein Jahr vorher an.
