If necessary and on request, language mediation is organised.

We provide free advice on asylum and residence law issues, dealing with violence and discrimination, accommodation and health. If necessary and in conflict situations, we accompany to offices and accommodations.

Malteser Medicine is for people without health insurance, people without valid residence status, and we help people without health insurance find a doctor who provides initial examination and emergency care in case of sudden illness, injury or pregnancy.

Medibüro Berlin does not offer medical treatment itself, but arranges anonymous and free treatment by qualified medical professionals for migrants without residence status and without health insurance.

If necessary, we can provide financial support for aids or medication. It is not possible to provide financial support for medication in the case of chronic illnesses, in the case of serious, long-term illnesses or for subsequent reimbursement of costs for medical treatment or medication. In these cases, we try to find and refer alternative solutions.

[DeepL:] International professionals can obtain information and advice on questions relating to the recognition of their foreign professional qualifications. The multilingual telephone hotline is available to professionals who work or would like to work in Berlin.

The hotline advisors provide initial orientation for those seeking advice and answer basic questions. They will help you find the right recognition office or refer you to the recognition counseling centers of the IQ Netzwerk Berlin.

If further questions need to be clarified, referrals are made to other counseling services such as those of the Berlin Job Center, the Berlin Counseling Center for Education and Career, or the Welcome Center.

In the tenancy advice service, you will receive all the important information on the subject of finding an apartment. You will also learn about your rights and obligations as a tenant and where you can find housing offers. This counselling is voluntary. You will be supported by language mediators.

The service is generally aimed at migrants aged 27 and over with a permanent residence status.
The specialist office offers free counselling mainly on the following topics:
* German courses (e.g. integration courses).
* Work and vocational training (job search, recognition of vocational qualifications...) * Children and family * Economic situation (income, job centre, debts...) * Health (health insurance, medical care, pregnancy, disability) * Everyday matters (contact with authorities, housing, leisure time...)
* Legal questions concerning residence

Migration counselling for adults (MBE)

• Assists new immigrants aged 27 and over in all stages of the integration process in Germany in the first three years after entering the country or obtaining permanent residence status.
• Offers individual and needs-oriented case guidance with the aim of increasing their chances of professional and social integration.
• Provides support in the search for a suitable integration course and, if required, takes on the social-pedagogical supervision of integration course participants.
• Actively participates in communal networks.
