A Meldebescheinigung (registration certificate) is a document from the Bürgeramt (Citizens' Office). It confirms that you live at your apartment or house. It includes your name, current address, and the date you registered your address. Many places may ask you for a current Meldebescheinigung to confirm your address. For example, you may need one when opening a bank account or signing a contract.
You receive a Meldebescheinigung after you register your address at the Bürgeramt. If you lose your Meldebescheinigung, you can apply for a new one.
With a BundID, you can submit both applications online.
A Meldebescheinigung is an official document. It includes your name, current address, and the date you registered your address. It also usually includes the name of the city where you live and a stamp or signature.
