Der Kindergarten heißt in Berlin Kindertagesstätte (kurz Kita) und ist für Kinder im Alter zwischen ca. 1 bis 6 Jahren kostenlos. Auf dieser Seite findest du Infos für die Kitaplatz-Suche, für den Antrag zum Kitagutschein und Tipps für die Anmeldung.

Kita-Anmeldung: Welche Schritte sind wichtig?

Du möchtest dein Kind in einer Kita anmelden? Dann gibt es jetzt mehrere Schritte zu tun: die Suche nach einer Kita, die Beantragung des Kitagutscheins, der Vertrag mit der Kita und die Eingewöhnung. Es kann mehrere Monate dauern. Starte rechtzeitig!

Die Suche: Wie finde ich einen Platz?

In Berlin gibt es verschiedene Möglichkeiten einen Platz in einem Kindergarten, auch Kita genannt, zu finden. Du kannst mit dem Kita-Navigator Berlin online nach allen öffentlichen Kitas in deiner Nähe suchen. Dort kannst du zum Beispiel nach Sprachen, Alter oder Aufnahme von Kindern mit Behinderung filtern. Du siehst direkt, wenn eine Kita noch Plätze frei hat.

Kitaplatz suchen

Im Kitanavigator findest du auch sogenannte „Elterninitiativ-Kitas“ (EKT). Die sind für dich richtig, wenn du gern die Kita als eine Gemeinschaft erleben möchtest, wo Eltern selbst mithelfen und mitentscheiden. Erfahre mehr dazu beim Dachverband Berliner Kinder- und Schülerläden (DaKS).

Wenn du möchtest, dass dein Kind in besonders kleinen Gruppen betreut wird, schau dich nach einer sogenannten „Tagespflege“ um. Hier findest du mehr Infos zu Kindertagespflege auf Berlin.de.

Tipp: Versuche deine Wunsch-Kita per Mail zu kontaktieren und zusätzlich persönlich zu erreichen, zum Beispiel über Telefon oder einen persönlichen Besuch! Oft nehmen Kitas nach den Sommerferien (August/ September) neue Kinder auf. Die Anmeldung beginnt meist zwischen Januar und März. Aber es gibt viele Ausnahmen! Frag nach, wie genau die Plätze verteilt werden und wie du am besten in Kontakt bleiben kannst. Bleib hartnäckig!

Was muss ich für die Kita bezahlen?

Die Kita ist für alle Kinder, die in Berlin wohnen, kostenlos. Du beteiligst dich mit 23 € im Monat am Essensgeld. Einige Kitas haben zusätzliche Angebote, zum Beispiel Musik oder Sport. Dafür muss du manchmal mehr bezahlen. Informiere dich am besten direkt in der Kita, ob und wieviele extra Kosten es gibt. Was ist ein Kitagutschein?

Für jedes Kind brauchst du einen Betreuungsgutschein (auch Kitagutschein genannt), der zeigt wie viele Stunden dein Kind in der Kita bleiben darf. Du musst den Gutschein online oder persönlich beim Jugendamt in deinem Bezirk beantragen. Jedes Kind ab 1 Jahr hat ein Recht auf 5-7 Stunden Kita pro Tag. Wenn beide Eltern beschäftigt sind, gibt es längere oder flexible Betreuungszeiten. Das Jugendamt hilft dir herauszufinden, welche Betreuungszeit für deine Situation richtig ist. Zum Beispiel, kannst du flexible Betreuung für dein Kind bekommen, wenn du oft abends oder am Wochenende arbeitest.

Wie bekomme ich den Kitagutschein?

    Du kannst den Antrag für den Kitagutschein beim Jugendamt online oder persönlich stellen. Finde hier heraus, was deine nächsten Schritte sind:

  • Online beantragen
    1. Klicke auf Online-Antrag.
    2. Fülle den Antrag für den Kitagutschein online aus.
    3. Drucke das fertige Formular aus, unterschreibe (beide Elternteile) und sende es mit allen nötigen Unterlagen per Post.
    4. Dein Jugendamt wird sich per Post bei dir zurückmelden.

What is that?

Der Betreuungsgutschein ist ein Dokument vom Jugendamt. Er zeigt, ob dein Kind einen Platz in der Kita oder in der eFöB (im Hort) bekommen kann und wer die Kosten bezahlt.

Das Jugendamt bezahlt die Betreuung, die für dich passt, unterschiedlich:

  • Komplett für Kinder in Kita oder eFöB (1.–3. Klasse) 
  • Teilweise für Kinder in der eFöB (4.–6. Klasse), abhängig von Einkommen und Bedarf

Den Antrag für den Betreuungsgutschein findest du online. Stell den Antrag so früh wie möglich, spätestens 3 Monate bevor die Betreuung anfangen soll. Du reichst den Antrag bei dem Jugendamt ein, das für deinen Wohnort zuständig ist. Der Gutschein gilt für öffentliche und private Betreuungseinrichtungen.

How does it look?
