What is that?
A Motivationsschreiben (motivation letter) is a personal text. In it, you explain why you want something, for example a job, a place at university, or an apprenticeship.
You write about what interests you, what you are good at, and why you are a good fit for the position.
Where can I get it?
You write the motivation letter yourself.
You can get help. For example, there are online tools that guide you step by step through the writing process, such as the Europass tool "Create your Europass Cover Letter" (in English).
How does it look?
The motivation letter is a free-form text. It often looks similar to a letter and is usually one page long.
