What is that?
The income certificate is a form about your income. Your employer fills out the form and confirms how much money you earn.
An income certificate is often required for applications, for example for a Wohnberechtigungsschein (WBS) (certificate of eligibility for social housing) or Wohngeld (housing benefit).
Where can I get it?
You usually get the form from the authority where you are submitting your application, for example from the Wohnungsamt (Housing Office), Bürgeramt (Citizens’ Office), or Jobcenter. In many cases, you can also download it online from the authority’s website.
