What is that?
The electronic patient record (elektronische Patientenakte (ePA)) is a digital folder for information about your health. For example, medical findings, medications, or vaccinations can be stored in this folder. The ePA allows doctors to get a quicker overview of your health. You can view the information in the folder and decide which information should be stored.
Where can I get it?
If you have statutory health insurance, your health insurance provider must create an electronic patient record (ePA) for you. Private health insurance providers can also offer the ePA, but they are not obliged to do so.
If you do not want an ePA, inform your health insurance provider.
