A Nebenbestimmung (additional provision) is an additional rule to a residence document. It tells you what you must do or take into account.
Two examples:
- You receive an Aufenthaltserlaubnis (residence permit). The Nebenbestimmung (additional provision) may state that you are allowed to work or how many hours you are allowed to work.
- You receive a Duldung (temporary suspension of deportation). The Nebenbestimmung (additional provision) states where you must live. It also states whether you are allowed to work.
