What are the authority's responsibilities?
The Wohnungsamt has several responsibilities. For example, it:
- checks applications for a Wohnberechtigungsschein (WBS; certificate of eligibility for subsidized housing) and issues the certificate
- checks applications for Wohngeld (housing benefits) and approves them
- helps you apply for benefits under the Bildungs- und Teilhabepaket (BuT; Education and Participation Package)
