What is it?
An Einkommensnachweis (proof of income) is a document that shows how much money you receive each month. Many public authorities and other organizations ask for the Einkommensnachweis, for example when you are looking for an apartment or applying for something.
Where can I get it?
If you are an employee, you can usually use your Lohnabrechnung (pay stub) as your Einkommensnachweis.
If you are self-employed or receive benefits from a public authority, you can use other documents to show your income. For example:
- a tax assessment
- bank statements
- an official decision from a public authority
What does it look like?
The Einkommensnachweis is usually a paper document or a PDF. It can include information such as your name, the period it covers, and how much money you received.
