What is it?
The Einkommensbescheinigung (income certificate) is a form that confirms your income. Your employer fills out the form and confirms how much you earn.
An Einkommensbescheinigung is often required when you apply for benefits or other documents, for example for a Wohnberechtigungsschein (WBS; certificate of eligibility for social housing) or Wohngeld (housing benefit).
Where can I get it?
You usually get the form from the public authority where you submit your application, for example from the Wohnungsamt (Housing Office), Bürgeramt (Citizens’ Office), or Jobcenter. In many cases, you can also download the form from the public authority’s website.
