A Durchgangsarzt or D-Arzt (doctor for work-related accidents) is a doctor who treats people who have had an accident at work or while traveling directly to or from work. The doctor examines the injury and decides what treatment is needed. The costs are covered by the Berufsgenossenschaft (employer's liability insurance association) or the Unfallkasse (statutory accident insurance).
