In a company-based vocational training program, you train for a profession mainly at a company or organization, for example in a bakery, hotel or public authorities. You work there and usually receive an apprenticeship pay. You will also attend a Berufsschule (vocational school) on some days, where you will learn the theory of your recognized apprenticeship occupation. This type of training is called duale Ausbildung (dual vocational training).
